SF Indie Art Expo brief recap
This weekend I set up a booth at the SF Indie Art Expo. It was a beautiful day which made the experience enjoyable. I sat next to Oliver, member of the band Pants Pants Pants and co-founder of The Present Group, an art subscription service. The pitch is that it’s like a wine club only for art. All the pieces are limited edition. This month’s art piece is a set of pins showing the progress of the moon. You can wear a new one for every phase. The other novel idea at the fair was a sewing cart that was constructed to sew on the road. The guy who ran the booth often hangs out by Union Square and does on-the-spot tayloring for shoppers who want to hem their pants while they finish their errands. He also does his own designs. I am trying to find his name, but the event website is vague and not helpful.
