I’m a new fan geek of Garth Evans. He’s a visiting artist here at Vermont Studio Center and I am really into his new clay sculptures. In his lecture, I really got a sense of how he transforms objects into abstractions- like a dead rabbit from a Flemish still life into a few pieces of wood.  Real nice.  

Also I’m gonna brag because he just did a studio visit and it was pretty great.  It’s funny how gratifying it can be when people hold a mirror up to your work.
